The Head of State, Moses Tallis Obed, signed on Monday 13 July the extension of the declaration of State of Emergency.
On the recommendation of the Committee as approved by the Council of Ministers, the President of the Republic makes the following Declaration of State of Emergency:
1 Extension of Declaration of State of Emergency
Due to the severe impacts of Tropical Cyclone Harold and the continuous global outbreak of COVID-19, an extension of the Declaration of the State of Emergency is declared throughout the whole of Vanuatu.
2 Period of State of Emergency
(1) The extension of the Declaration of State of Emergency in relation to Tropical Cyclone Harold commences of the 11th day of July 2020 and ceases to have effect on the 9th of August 2020.
(2) The extension of the Declaration of State of Emergency in relation to COVID-19 commences on the 11th day of July 2020 and ceases to have effect on the 31st day of December 2020.
