The Government has engaged a company called Blue Mirror Limited and the Trade Commissioner of Vanuatu Dubai to act on its behalf as an agent for the Permanent Residence Program.
This authorisation was made through a contract agreement signed on June 1, 2020.
The Trade Commissioner in Dubai has the responsibilities to explore and facilitate the development and promotion of Vanuatu as a destination for potential investment opportunities in the Middle East, Europe, Pacific, Africa and American countries.
Blue Mirror Limited has been authorised by government to represent itself as an authorised office to deal with the Permanent Residence Program on behalf of the Vanuatu Government.
The Vanuatu Permanent Residence Program is a Government initiative for the granting of residence permit for a period of 10 years and is renewable.
Under newly signed law related to previleges and requirements of this program, a person who has been granted residence under the Program can enter into Vanuatu without a visa.
That person may reside in Vanuatu for the period stated above and engage in a business activity in Vanuatu.
Finally if a person has been granted residence under this Program intends to engage in a business activity in Vanuatu, he or she must;
a) register with the Department of Labour for employment; and
b) register with the Vanuatu Financial Service Commission.
These new schedules are part of an Immigration Visa Regulation (Amendment) Order signed by Minister of Internal Affairs, Ishmael Kalsakau.
The schedule of the program also requires for applicants to provide a certification of an investment in any part of the world, which is equivalent to Vt1 billion, a police clearance, a medical certificate, a copy of a passport bio-page and an economic investment proposal in line with the Government’s decentralization priority.
The applicant is obliged to apply as an individual or a family with not more than four individuals with details of parents and children under the age of 18. A marriage certificate and birth certificates of children must also be provided.
These changes have been published in the Government’s Official Gazette.
The Blue Mirror Limited is registered under the Vanuatu Financial Services Commission as being under Directors Samuel Andrew of Eratap and Anatol Tom residing at Eratap.
The sole shareholder is Andrew Samuel. Source: DP
