A new road was built recently linking the two tar sealed roads, one that is one way from Stade Area to the Ministry of Education and the other one from the entrance of the municipal cemetery to the Vanuatu Institute of Technology (VIT) and the Ministry of Education.
The new road follow the southern part of the concrete wall of the Francophone University (Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie) and the property owned by the former Malekula MP Paul Telukluk.
It provides easy access to people who live near Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie (AUF). With this new road, there is an easy access for vehicles, especially service buses, for around eighty people living on more than ten plots of land being the property of Vanuatu Government.
Speaking with a young boy who live with his parents on the area, he said before when travelling by bus with goods, they used to get off the bus at the empty land between the entrance of the municipal cemetery and the entrance of Ex-FOL.
“With this new road, when we do our shopping in town and travel by bus for home and when we kindly ask bus driver to drop us where we live, it is very easy for him to accept as it was not the case before with a space that was only accessible for big vehicles,” said the young boy.
