Hundreds of people gathered together yesterday at Lowanatom as this catholic mission in West Tanna welcomed young people from Catholic Church around the country to their annual assembly being decided by Catholic Synod which took place at Montmartre few weeks ago.
A mass conducted by Bishop John Bosco Barames marked the beginning of the official opening yesterday morning, attended by catholic young people coming from catholic missions around the country. Different dignitaries from the host island also attended the opening ceremony of this one week assembly.
Prime Minister was invited to open the assembly but due to bad weather yesterday morning, he decided not to go to Tanna. MP for Tanna Nako Natuman delivered PM’s speech to catholic youth, outlining the role of the government and the investment the current executive has made towards the development of youth in Vanuatu.
