Vanuaaku Pati (VP) will soon have a new President to succeed late Edward Natapei.
Since the passing away of the former Prime Minister and MP for Port Vila, the longest political party in Vanuatu is without a legitimate President and Joe Natuman of Tanna has been chosen to lead the party on acting basis until the new President is elected.
More than two years after Mr. Natapei passed away, preparations are underway to organize the VP Congress in which the election of a new President will take place.
The Congress is scheduled to take place from Sunday 28th to Tuesday 29th October in South East Ambym.
The people who will host the next VP Congress are working hand in hand to make sure the important political event will be well organized. All ten villages in South East Ambrym will offer hospitality to hundreds of delegates who will come from the islands throughout Vanuatu to attend the Congress and to witness the election of the new President of the party which fought for the independence of the country
