Vanuatu wonderkid Bong Kalo scored for Nalkutan as they ran out 3-1 winners in an international friendly against Kossa of Solomon Islands.
The midfielder, who has spent several months at Swiss side Ascona FC, scored the third goal as Nalkutan ran out comfortable winners in the game, OceaniaFC reports.
Young striker Azariah Soromon also scored for Nalkutan. Once again he showed promise after his superb performances for Vanuatu in the Pacific Mini Games in December.
The other Nalkutan goal was scored by talented Solomon Islands winger James Naka, who joined the club in January to play in the Oceania Champions League.
The Vanuatu Grand Final champions organised the friendly as preparation for the Oceania Champions League group stage, where they will face Lae City Dwellers of Papua New Guinea, Ba FC from Fiji and the qualifying stage winners.
The friendly was delayed after Kossa’s flight was cancelled and the game was postponed from Saturday. Nalkutan will begin their Champions League campaign in February when the group stage begins.
