Fiji Association of Sports and National Olympic Committee Chief Executive, Lorraine Mar was not happy with few local sports who failed to attend the recent Pacific Mini Games in Vanuatu.
Mar says the sporting federations who did not attend the games, gave other commitments as their priority, FBC reports.
She adds having not including our national Karate team and Netball at the Games has affected their rankings.
“When we look at athletics they were a number of events where we did not filled athletes and so basically we’re giving medals away and it’s a real pity that Karate did not attend the games because if we go by the 2015 performance of Karate I think it would have made a big difference.”
Fiji was placed third at the Vanuatu Mini Games which ended over the weekend.
Meanwhile, Fiji last won the Pacific Mini Games in Cook Islands in 2009.
