In preparation for the Pacific Mini Games, Team PNG’s advance party left Port Moresby on Tuesday for Vanuatu.
The group led by general manager, Anzillah Miro, went ahead to do final checks on the accommodation venues and logistics before the rest of the team arrives, Post Courier.
Chef-de-Mission Emma Waiwai said accommodation and transport were very important and the advance party will be organising that in preparation for the rest of the team.
“It is going to be our home away from home over the next few weeks so we have to make sure our athletes are comfortable and safe so that they can perform well,” Waiwai said.
The first lot of athletes will depart Port Moresby on Thursday with the rest of the members of the general team management.
This group will include athletes and officials from the sport of golf, table tennis and weightlifting.
