Yesterday, October 25, the Prime Minister of Vanuatu Charlot Salwai has signed two agreements that should enhance the control over government vehicles.
Under signed contracts, all government vehicles will be embedded with GPS, and the fuel for these vehicles will be provided by a single company.
Au Bon Marche won the contract to distribute the fuel to the government vehicles, while GPS contract was won by Geo Cal company.
According to PM Salwai, the government vehicles usage is an issue every year, with overspending in many departments. He hopes with the GPS system contract there will be more control over the use of government vehicles, while the centered fuel distribution will allow to cut fuel costs in different government’s departments.
