PM of Samoa flown to hospital in New Zealand

Samoa’s Prime Minister, Tuilaepa Sailele, has been medevaced to a hospital in New Zealand.

He was admitted to the intensive care ward of the hospital in Apia on Wednesday afternoon and was subsequently flown to Auckland by air ambulance, reports Pacific Beat.

In a statement the government says the check ups in Auckland will be precautionary, and quotes Tuilaepa as saying there is no need for the public to be overly concerned and he’s looking forward to coming home with a clean bill of health.
