The Youth Challenge Vanuatu, Youth Center Service (YCS) Program launches its educational activities for 2020.
In his welcome speech the YCV director Mr Steven Noel Sawia encourages the young people to commit in their thirst for knowledge, to learn, ask questions, participate and involve in opportunities presented.
Mr Sawia, stated ‘be committed, don’t compare yourself to others. Your life is more about your future than your past. Your pathway to success will be littered with traps and pitfalls but if you commit and make use of opportunities you will achieve your dreams’.
Around 300 YCS members including the Ready for Work and Ready for Business participants gathered today the Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter Day Saints for the Youth Center Service induction, which also includes the launching of the BAE MI VOTE campaign that aims to encourage young people to vote.
Mr Sawia, added that,‘ this activities are part of the YCV educational activities that goes in line with the YCV goal for empowering young women and men including marginalized youth to become leader in the economic and social development in Vanuatu’.
Currently, 30 young people are undertaking Certificate 3 in business management with the University of the South Pacific under the Ready for Business Program. They have opened bank accounts with National
Bank of Vanuatu awaiting their small grants as capitals for their small businesses.
