Ambassador H.E Zhou Haicheng from the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Port Vila has handed over a vehicle to the Director General Mr. Kalfau Kaloris from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and External Trade, towards the Pacific Island Forum Leaders Meeting that will take place in August this year.
The vehicle – handed over last Wednesday 22nd of January, has been designated for use by the National Coordinator Mr. Howard – appointed by the Vanuatu Government to coordinate preparations towards the hosting of the event.
The Pacific Island Forum is the region’s premiere political and economic policy organization, which works to achieve cooperation between regional governments, collaboration with the international agencies and represent the interests of its members.
The Republic of Vanuatu and the People’s Republic of China established official diplomatic relations on March 26, 1982.
As such Vanuatu shares a very close and friendly ties and cooperation with China, as reflected in this generous contribution to the Vanuatu Government.
Director General Mr. Kalfau Kaloris from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and External Trade, conveyed on behalf of the Vanuatu Government the country’s utmost appreciation towards China’s continuous assistance. The assistance is important as it fosters continued cooperation and friendly relations between the two countries.
