Vanuatu will bid for 2027 Pacific Games.
The Deputy Prime Minister in charge of Trade and Acting Prime Minister Jotham Napat told sportsmen and sportswomen and people present at Seafront today morning that Vanuatu government still maintain its stand to host 2027.
The announcement to bid for 2027 Pacific Games was made after Vanuatu hosted Pacific Mini-Games on December 2017.
Were present today among dignitaries to witness the presentation of Team Vanuatu to go to Samoa Pacific Games, the speaker of Parliament Esmon Simon, the Acting Prime Minister Jotham Napat, the Minister of Sports and Youth Development Simeon Seule, the Minister of Foreign Affairs Ralph Regenvanu, the President of Vasanoc Antoine Boudier, the Chief Executive Officer of Vasanoc Henry Tavoa and the Director General of Sports and Youth Development Henry Vira.
There are 160 athletes included in several sports discipline, selected by their respective federation to represent Vanuatu at the Pacific Games in Western Samoa from 7 to 20 July.
The first group will depart this weekend and the other one on Thursday next week.
