The recent meeting of the Council of Ministers has approved documents related to the setting
up of Medical Insurance Scheme by the Vanuatu National Provident Fund (VNPF) for workers
troughout Vanuatu.
The Prime Minister Charlot Salwai made the revelation to Vila Times on Friday last week.
He said the appointment of Task Force will be made soon to work closer with the VNPF towards
the setting up of the new scheme which will be very profitable for all workers in the public
sector and the private sector.
This new initiative is taken in regards to the setting up of private hospitals in line with the policy
of the current government to improve health facilities in Vanuatu.
With the new Medical Insurance Scheme, workers around Vanuatu who are members of VNPF
will find easy to get treatments in private hospital. Once Medical Insurance Scheme launched, it
will attract investors who wish to venture into health service in the country.

  • Medical Insursance Scheme by the Vanuatu National Provident Fund to also attract potential foreigninvestors to receive treatment in Vanuatu.

It is a great Project. Our (We Vanuatu people) main question today re: Vanuatu people Investment in VFNPF should sometimes focuss on the direct impact of this new Initiative decided by the GM Parmod Achary without proper consultation to the Vanuatu people at large. There should be a widder consultation in all Islands before confirming this new initiative by the VNPF. This Initiative main be a drain, which will left 2 or 3 people direct beneficiaries of our Investments in VNPF, since in 2018, the COM Council of Ministers have attributed over billions to external Investment Company such as ATH and recently a possibility of investment in the Solomon Islands.

WHEN THE NI-VANUATU PEOPLE owning this VNPF institution decides on this Institution s decision that are of obsolete nature, as if we ni-vanuatu people, are governed by a military rule, to always accept decisions made by the VNPF Board or the COM without direct consultation with ALL NI-VANUATU PEOPLE concerned.

Why us ni-vanuatu people can only access 25% of our Investment? whereas other foreign Institution can access our fund without our concern? Are we governed by foreigners who have the capacity to decide on or own rights without us?????????????????? Can all Vanuatu citizens apply for similar Investment in Fiji or India?

Where are we today? And where are we going to? with foreigners deciding on our investment’s future? can us NI-VANUATU go and decide on Fijian s or Indian s funds?????

    What are your comments????

What are your comments???? Since ages ago 2014 after ages, and also since 2006 with the roles delineation plan of the former DG of MOH, why the MHSP was not operational? Is ?not it due to the Centralisation of Funding at the National level? Why the then DG resumes duty with the WHO for the NCD Programs since 2015 without implementing the related MHSP and its governing Policies? Is it the right time to return to work in WHO to implement what she was not capable for implementing from 2006-2008? and then from 2014 to 2019? What is the use of Government and Institution s Partners investing huge millions of Vatu in similar people who have no sense of responsibility to the Vanuatu people? How can it be after so many ages, then the Ministry of Health can recommend a former DG and former Directors involved in fraudulent actitivities of Global fund to be -recruited again in the Ministry of Health? Is it to complete the Public Accounts Committee Report on mis-use of Public Fund (Global Fund and Expanded Program on Immunization for EPI Coverage?). Most of the then Directors and Senior Managers werte suspended in 2014 due to serious allegations and terminated by the PSC. Today in 2019, Those people are again recruited in the Ministry of Health to supplement their decisions-making maybe with the former Director General of Health currently in WHO NCD Advisory Program?

    What a shame?????
