Roads tar sealed like Efate and Santo. Tanna becomes the first outer island to have its main roads tar sealed.
Thanks to the People’s Republic of China which funded the project, and the Chinese company, CCECC (China Civil Engineering and Construction Corporation) which constructed the roads connecting the main centers on the most populated island of Tafea Province.
Talking about Lenakel Black Man Town, it is really a township with its new tar seal road connecting Whitegrass Airport and Isangel where the headquarters of Tafea Province are located.
Another one cemented to facilitate access for people of the southern part of the island is also the fruit of the hardworking team of CCECC. The Chinese company with its own capacity in machinery and personnel had recruited locals to boost the efforts to achieve what has transformed the existing roads to what they are today.
Since independence, people have had to endure economic hardships because of appalling road conditions. The Tanna road project is meant to be the appropriate answer to those cries.
