The ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries, has moved to help people from Ambae to rebuild their economy through farming following the volcano activities which destroyed agricultural crops in many gardens around the island.
The minister Hosea Nevu has recently instructed the shipment of the tractor based on Maewo to Ambae to help the victims of volcano in the rehabilitation programme while they are returning home since the lapse of the State of Emergency on 26th November.
The instruction follows the decision made by the Council of ministers concerning the return of the evacuees to their island and for the government to provide the services such as health, agriculture, environment and security.
Following the return of the Ambaeans to their home island, the department of Agriculture planned to make crops available so that farming starts immediately in line with the resettlement of the people.
The minister of Agriculture plans to personally go to Ambae to have contact with people who have gone through some many months of hardship.
