The Department of Labour recently decided not to give more licenses to people who apply to be agent for RSE workers in New Zealand and Australia at the same time.
Sources from Labour said the decision also targets the existing agents who operate license for RSE workers for the two countries at the same time.
More than one hundred Ni-Vanuatus have license to be local agents for Ni-Vanuatu workers who are going to New Zealand and Australia each year to work on farms.
Meanwhile it was reported by a Ni-Vanuatu who recently returned from New Zealand that his employer has warned him and his colleagues not to give any money to their agent when they come back in their country. The RSE worker said their kiwi employer told them that each year he paid their agent big money and it was not necessary for them to give him or her extra money.
The kiwi employer has warned his Ni-Vanuatu workers that if one of them gives money again to their agent in Vanuatu, he or she won’t return to New Zealand.
