The two ministers representing the Vanuatu Leaders’ Party in the Salwai led coalition Government were sacked yesterday afternoon by the Acting Prime Minister Bob Loughman.
The reason behind their termination is not clear. Daily Post reported today morning that the two MPs were sacked from their respective ministerial portfolio as another motion of no confidence against Salwai Government is circulating for MPs to sign.
It is no clear if the MPs of Vanuatu Leaders Party are part of this new attempt to chase Charlot Salwai from the Government but last year the president of VLP, Jotham Napat, has been reported to have said during a custom ceremony that he will support this Government until the end of its mandate.
Vila Times understands that this move is political and was taken by the Acting Prime Minister after his election last week as new President of Vanua’Aku Pati (VP).
The Prime Minister will be back to Port Vila this afternoon after his overseas trip being to Dubai and Hong Kong.
