There are allegations that some building materials and water tanks being donated by European Union after cyclone Pam in 2015 have been diverted from their original purpose and all landed on an island of Vanuatu.

The interesting story behind this donation made as relief supply after cyclone Pam, is that the building materials, including 20 tons of cement, and water tanks have been supplied to help communities as part of reconstruction and setting up of water system. Instead, a man who was a senior civil servant at that time sent the building materials and tanks to his home island.

The tanks were distributed to households and a new house belonging to the senior public servant has been erected allegedly from the building materials, reports said.
