FIJI Airways announced it resumes flights to Tonga after TC Gita.
General manager Corporate Communications Shane Hussein said two flights — one with supplies for those affected by Severe Tropical Cyclone Gita — were scheduled to depart at 11am and 1pm from Nadi International Airport.
The national carrier had cancelled flights earlier this week because of the unavailability of facilities and ground handling services caused by TC Gita which swept through the island kingdom, Fiji Times reports.
Fiji Airways said the Category 4 storm also brought flight disruptions to the outer islands of the Fiji Group.
The airline said customers were advised to get updates on flight information before making plans to travel to Tonga.
Mr Hussein said the first flight to Nuku’alofa, was a supplementary service which would ferry passengers who had been stranded in Nadi because of TC Gita.
