Vanuatu among 30 countries who have paid their 2018 contributions towards the operational expenses of United Nations Climate Change.
UN Climate Change executive secretary Patricia Espinosa said these funds are ‘crucial for enabling the day to day operations of the organization.’
In her statement Patricia Espinosa thanked all nations who paid their 2018 COP contributions. This group consists of 30 countries, including Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, Tuvalu and others.
“I would like to extend my deepest appreciation to the Parties that have contributed in a timely way,” Patricia Espinosa said.
These contributions support the UNFCCC’s work on implementing the Paris Climate Change Agreement and pushing for more global climate action.
