VFF: Ministry of Education paid Vanuatu footballers around Vt2 mln in bonuses

Vanuatu Football Federation (VFF) President, Lambert Maltock has thanked everyone who had contributed in one way or the other “to make 2017 a great year for football in Vanuatu”.

“Indeed 2017 have been not only a great and blessed year for Vanuatu Football, but an unprecedented historical milestone of Vanuatu Football.

“Vanuatu has proven to the world that sometimes intellectual analysts or experts in football may fall short in their wisdom or human thinking against the odd which we as simple believers in a living God, always pray and trust that with our God nothing is impossible,” Lambert Maltock stated.

“I wish to take the opportunity to extend our most sincere and heartfelt gratitude to the Ministry of Education, especially Hon. Minister Jean Pierre Nirua, DG and all the staff for their very firm and total support to our Men’s Football Team without which such historical outcome could have been affected.

“Just for information, we wish to acknowledge and record that the Ministry of Education has paid Vt95,000 to each player for the campaign of the gold medal totalling up to around Vt2,000,000 excluding Government bonus.

“Congratulations Hon. Minister and your Staff, I believe you have done a great job to help motivate the players to deliver perfectly which made us all pride and happy.”
