Vanuatu national team to play friendly match against Fiji in October

Vanuatu Football Federation is in talks with Fiji Football Association to schedule an international friendly match between two teams.

The Fiji Football Association has recently confirmed Vanuatu’s interest in playing against the Vodafone National Football team.

FFA Chief Executive Mohammed Yusuf said there are two international games lined up for the Bula Boys.

“We will look at Vanuatu, and they are keen to come to Fiji. We are looking at that prospect of Fiji playing against Vanuatu in October’s FIFA window in Fiji. So two more international games.”

Reportedly Fiji and Vanuatu may have a friendly game in October. On 19th November Fiji will host Estonia for another friendly match.

Earlier we reported that Vanuatu men’s national football team has fallen even lower than before in FIFA world rankings, updated on August 10, – from No. 194 to No. 195 in overall rating. Among Pacific countries, only Tonga has now lower position than Vanuatu, staying on the very last 206th spot. Fiji is No. 181.
