Matai Seremaiah, Minister responsible for Agriculture, Livestock, Forestry, Fisheries and Biosecurity, recently visited PRV plantation in Malekula.
The owner of PRV Mr. David Russet confirmed that the plantation is undertaking a huge coconut replanting program in 1300 hectares of land of about 1500 old coconut trees. The senile coconut trees meanwhile are being milled for timber.
The plantation also holds a capacity of 1500 heads of cattle, reports Vanuatu’s Department of Agriculture.
The Govenment through the Ministry of Agriculture is very supportive of replanting initiatives in line with its key policy objectives.
